Children from Botley Primary School received high-visibility jackets from the city centre Specsavers and used them during a Year 2 outing in February.
During the trip, children visited local shops to learn about different buildings and businesses.
Greg Harding, store director at Specsavers Oxford, said: “It’s brilliant that the school are already using the vests to help make sure the pupils are safe when they’re out on trips.
“Supporting our local community is something we are always keen to do and donating the hi-vis vests to local schools is an important part of that.”
Botley Primary School plans to use the jackets on a regular basis.
Jenny Ayres, the school’s operations manager, said: “We’re really grateful to Specsavers Oxford for giving us the jackets.
“We will be using them for many different trips and they’re already helping give teachers a bit more peace of mind that the children can be seen clearly.”
The Oxford branch of Specsavers is located at 33 Queen Street in the city centre.
