New nursery in Oxford set to open for families from May 2026

Childbase Partnership, a nursery group with early-years schools across the south of England, has announced it will be moving into a new site at science campus ARC Oxford in Garsington Road.

It will be the third nursery operated by the group to come to Oxfordshire, joining Julia Durbin and Sandford day nurseries in Headington, and promises to provide families with ‘exceptional early years education and care in a thoughtfully designed environment’.

“Following a full refurbishment, the nursery has been thoughtfully designed to create a warm, inspiring environment where children feel safe, valued and encouraged to explore the world around them.

“We are also proud to be building on the strong reputation established by our outstanding-rated sister nurseries in Headington, and we look forward to welcoming families and supporting even more children to develop the confidence, curiosity and skills they need for a successful start in life.”

Childbase Partnership said nursery life will be built around its Ready, Steady, Grow curriculum, with an emphasis on sustainability, catering activities to each child’s individual interests, and helping them ‘learn, explore and thrive’.

The group was founded in 1989 with the aim of providing childcare to meet the needs of working class families, and has now expanded to 43 sites across England.

“Providing access to high-quality childcare helps support both the people who work across the campus and families in the surrounding community, and having a trusted provider like Childbase on site will make a real difference.”

ARC Oxford is an 88-acre science and innovation campus which is home to more than 30 organisations and 3,000 employees.

It is due to benefit from the opening of the Cowley Brand Line to passengers in 2029, which will deliver fast links between the campus, Oxford city centre and beyond to London.
