Henrik Bunge Named Chief Executive Officer of J.Lindeberg

LONDON — J.Lindeberg, the Stockholm-based fashion and sportswear brand, has appointed Henrik Bunge its next chief executive officer, effective April 1.

Succeeding Hans-Christian Meyer, who departed over the summer, Bunge joins from Björn Borg, where he served as CEO for 12 years. His previous leadership roles include various positions at Peak Performance, Adidas Group and Hästens.

Speaking on behalf of the company’s board, Lise Kaae, CEO of J.Lindeberg’s majority owner Heartland, said Bunge brings “a strong understanding of both the industry and what it takes to develop and build successful brands.”

“We believe he is the right person to lead J.Lindeberg forward, building on the foundation already in place while continuing to develop the business,” added Kaae.

Commenting on his appointment, Bunge said J.Lindeberg is a brand “with a distinctive identity, a strong heritage and great potential.”

“I have followed the company for many years and have great respect for what has been built. I look forward to getting to know the organization, working with the team and continuing to strengthen the brand and develop the business,” he said.

Founded in 1996, J.Lindeberg brings a fashion-forward perspective to golf apparel. The brand is sold in more than 35 countries. Its retail network includes 157 stores, while wholesale distribution reaches close to 2,000 stores worldwide.
