The White Rabbit, Friars Entry, has submitted plans to the council to install a new solar terrace over its garden.
The pub said it wants to remove its existing parasol structures and replace them with a glazed photovoltaic canopy over the outdoor area.
Plans also include the installation of retractable weather screens alongside landscaping and other works.
The proposals – which are yet to be decided on – were submitted to Oxford City Council in September and were validated on September 18.

One member of the public, Darren Collins, has expressed his support in the council’s planning portal.
He said: “A massive improvement and green credentials too! This has my support.”
Residents and nearby businesses have until October 24 to comment on the application.
The council’s current internal target deadline for the application is November 13.
This is not the first time the pub has submitted plans to Oxford County Council.
In 2022, the business was involved in a disagreement with the council’s planning department over its bespoke garden furniture.
The pub has also previously been recognised for its pizzas, which featured in a 2018 ranking of some of the best in the UK based on Tripadvisor reviews.
The White Rabbit is located at 21 Friars Entry in Oxford city centre.
