Darcica Logistics, based in Bicester, was recognised by Palletways UK, Europe’s largest express palletised freight network, at its annual UK conference and awards evening held at Carden Park Hotel in Cheshire.
The company was named Sustainability Champion for the second consecutive year and also received the inaugural Palletways PR and Marketing Award.
Rob Gittins, managing director of Palletways UK, said: “The annual member awards provide an opportunity for all of our members to come together and celebrate their achievements.
“Darcica Logistics has shown exemplary leadership and unwavering commitment to environmental responsibility for the second consecutive year.
“The company’s initiatives drive meaningful change and inspire a more sustainable future for the logistics industry.
“Congratulations on a well-deserved win – we look forward to seeing how Darcica continues to lead the way to a greener tomorrow.”
The awards come as Darcica Logistics achieves B Corp certification, further cementing its commitment to responsible business practices.
Anthony Tattersall, owner of Darcica Logistics, said: “Sustainability is at the core of our fleet investments strategy and company values, so it’s an honour to be recognised for the second year in a row as Palletways UK’s Sustainability Champion.
“With the support of Government incentives, the total cost over ownership of EV trucks is currently on a par with diesel and whilst upfront costs remain higher, we’re committed to long-term environmental progress.”
Darcica currently operates a fleet in which 30 per cent of vehicles are electric, including a 42-tonne DAF XF, two 19-tonne electric DAFs, four Maxus EV vans, and a fully electric company car fleet.
The company is also exploring additional zero-emission vehicle technologies and has a diesel-to-electric truck conversion on order with NewPower.
Melanie Tattersall, director of sustainability and communications at Darcica, said: “At Darcica, we firmly believe that sustainable logistics are essential to the future of the industry.
“This isn’t only about reducing carbon emissions, it’s important to us as a family-run business that we champion equality, diversity, and inclusion in an industry that must evolve.
“We were also delighted to be recognised with Palletways’ new PR and Marketing Award.
“It means a lot to know that our work to promote the values behind our business are being noticed, and we look forward to seeing where the next year takes us.”
Darcica is part of the Palletways UK network, which includes more than 130 independent transport providers.
