The annual event will run from November 13 to 15 and will once again transform the city with a weekend of illuminated installations, performances and community activities.
Events will take place across the city, from Cutteslowe to Blackbird Leys, and will include crafts, parades, puppetry, music, storytelling, markets and food.
Susan Brown, leader of Oxford City Council, said: “Each year Oxford’s Christmas Light Festival brings communities, cultures and businesses together to create a wonderful weekend festival that brightens up Oxford through a magical light spectacle.
“If you would like to get involved and host an event or activity, get in touch with our events team to register your interest.
“It doesn’t matter where in the city you are based, you can take part and help to light up your community.”
Most of the events and activities are free.
A range of cultural and community organisations are already involved in the festival, including Ark-T, Film Oxford, IF Oxford Science & Ideas Festival, Museum of Oxford, Pegasus Theatre and The North Wall Arts Centre.
Organisers are encouraging more groups to join the programme and help create a city-wide celebration.
A spokesperson for Oxford City Council said any organisation interested in taking part should email events@oxford.gov.uk by Friday, October 16, to be included in the line-up.
The full festival programme will be published from October 2026 on the event website at www.oxlightfest.com.
