The retrospective planning application relates to Building 88, a former Fire Party Hut which would have been used by firefighting crews, within the RAF Bicester Conservation Area at Bicester Motion.
The 18-square-metre building, which was later used for Ministry of Defence storage, has already been refurbished and brought into use as a Class E office.
According to planning documents, the works were largely internal and included the installation of a glazed inner door behind the building’s original timber entrance doors. A new external light fitting has also been added.
The application, submitted to Cherwell District Council, argues the scheme preserves the building’s historic character while bringing a redundant structure back into active use.
Bicester Motion says the proposal forms part of its ongoing heritage-led regeneration programme at the former RAF site, which is home to more than 50 automotive and aviation businesses employing over 800 people.
The latest application comes as Bicester Motion advances wider plans for the 444-acre estate.
These include proposals for 200 homes and a live-work neighbourhood known as the Motion Living Quarter, alongside expanded workspace and experience tracks under plans called The Rushes and The Ranges.
Future phases also include a new headquarters for electric motor specialist YASA, which is owned by Mercedes-Benz, together with enhanced hospitality facilities including lodges and a clubhouse.
Comments are due by October 11, with the planning authority due to make a decision by early November 2026.
