This includes all 106 Beefeater restaurants, 20 Bar+ Block sites, and more than 30 Table Table branches.

The Applecart Beefeater in Oxford is among the sites affected by Whitbread’s programme of restaurant closures.

The closures are part of Whitbread’s new strategy to replace standalone restaurant chains with an “integrated food and beverage offer.”

British Heart Foundation, the nation’s biggest charity retailer, has just published its annual report and accounts, stating it had achieved “lifesaving progress in a challenging year”.

A prominent fixture of British high streets has reported a £3.3m loss, which it describes as unsustainable.

The organisation will be shutting 150 stores over the coming months as a result.

The British Heart Foundation shop in Abingdon has been earmarked for closure, with staff expecting it to close by the end of the year.
