Led by paint expert and Sobell House ambassador Annie Sloan, the Christmas-themed corporate workshop is a collaboration between Sobell House Hospice Charity and Oxford Wood Recycling.
It aims to raise funds for both organisations while offering a hands-on, creative experience for Oxfordshire businesses.
Ms Sloan said: “I’m incredibly proud to be a local business that manufactures here in Oxford and to be working alongside other Oxford organisations to raise money for causes that mean so much to our community.
“As a Sobell House Ambassador, I’m always inspired by the support local people show for the hospice and the difference it makes to families across the county.
“I also love Christmas. It’s a time for family, home, and creativity, and this workshop brings all those things together.
“It’s a wonderful opportunity for businesses to come together, have fun, get creative, and support two fantastic local organisations at the same time.”
The workshop will take place at Oxford Wood Recycling in Abingdon on Thursday, November 19, and is designed as a festive alternative to traditional team-building activities.
Participants will work together to create Christmas decorations using reclaimed pallet wood and Annie Sloan paints.
Most of the finished pieces will be sold through both charities’ shops to raise further funds.
Beth Marsh, director of fundraising at Sobell House Hospice Charity, said: “We’re delighted to be partnering with Annie Sloan and Oxford Wood Recycling for what promises to be a truly memorable event.
“This event offers businesses a fresh and engaging team-building experience while helping to fund the specialist care and support that Sobell House provides to patients and families across Oxfordshire.
“We’re looking forward to welcoming teams from across the county and seeing a little friendly festive competition along the way.”
The event follows the recent success of the Paint Everything workshop at the Sobell House Bicester Superstore.
Funds raised will support both Sobell House’s hospice care and the environmental and employment programmes delivered by Oxford Wood Recycling.
Adrian Sell, chief executive officer at Oxford Wood Recycling, said: “Oxford Wood Recycling is all about giving materials a second life, encouraging creativity, and supporting our local community.
“We’re thrilled to be hosting this event alongside Annie Sloan and Sobell House Hospice Charity.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity for businesses to step away from the office, work together in a different environment, and support two organisations that make a real difference locally.
“We can’t wait to see what teams create and who comes out on top in the challenge.”
Businesses interested in taking part can find out more and reserve places through the Sobell House Hospice website.
