Harrisons Fish & Chips, which is based in Elms Parade, Botley, has revealed the quantities of food that has been cooked in the three and a half years since the infamous Botley Road closure began.
The road is set to be opened tomorrow (Sunday, September 20) to the delight of businesses that have blamed its closure on reduced trade.

Harrisons revealed that since April 2023, 40,994kg of chips, 11,124kg of cod, 2,875kg of haddock and 890kg of alternative fish have been sold.

Celebrating the opening, a spokesperson for the fish and chip shop said: “Finally, Botley Bridge is about to reopen!
“Despite being cut off from much of Oxford during the works, we’re incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved and here are a few brilliant statistics from that time.
“Once the bridge reopens, Harrison’s will finally be easier to reach from every part of Oxford.
“It’s going to be a fantastic day for Botley residents, local businesses and the wider Oxfordshire community.

In addition Harrisons noted that they had won a national fish and chip award in during the period of the Botley Road closure.
Indeed, the Oxford chippy won the Menu Innovation prize at the National Fish and Chip Awards, held on Wednesday (February 25, 2026) at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge in London.
Harrison’s was also in the running for the best takeaway in the country prize, but lost out to The Scrap Box in York.
