Redrow South Midlands, which is currently building at Hampden Meadows in Watlington and Blaise Park in Abingdon, has launched a competition for children aged four to 16 across Oxfordshire to design a home for the year 2126.
The winning design will be buried in a time capsule at Blaise Park.
Lee Abbott, sales manager for Redrow South Midlands, said: “We’re so excited to get a glimpse into the future of housebuilding by calling on Oxfordshire’s most creative young talent to imagine what a home will look like in 100 years.
“From convertible roofs for those sweltering summer nights to robot gardeners who mow the lawn, we’re searching for the most adventurous and ambitious designers for this role.
“Here at Redrow South Midlands, we’re committed to bringing young people into the construction sector and are recognised by the industry for our training excellence and apprenticeship programme.”
The winner will receive a £100 prize, while their school or college will be awarded £150 in artwork vouchers.
Entries must be submitted by email to BarrattRedrow@wpragency.co.uk by midnight on Friday, October 16.
The winner will join other regional ‘archi-tots’ selected by Redrow from across the UK, with one overall champion to be announced later this year.
