\n There are 35 creditors listed for cycling cargo company Pedal and Post, based at Oxford’s Osney Mead industrial estate, all of which are owed a combined \u00a3308,226.93.\n<\/p>\n
\n The city company, which also expanded to London, formally appointed liquidators after bosses closed down the struggling business after nearly 14 years in January.\n<\/p>\n
\n Brett Lee Barton and Margaret Carter, of Walsall-based BK Plus, have been appointed as joint liquidators this month.\n<\/p>\n

\n Statement of affairs submitted and signed off by Pedal and Post boss Chris Benton suggest there is a deficiency to creditors of \u00a3287,853.\n<\/p>\n
\n The documents, published to Companies House, show unsecured creditors have claims of \u00a3275,876.\n<\/p>\n

\n Unsecured creditors are those at the back of the queue when it comes to getting their money back once liquidators have sold off assets.\n<\/p>\n
\n Among them is Mr Benton, owed \u00a3118,938 from the business, and \u00a3101,690 from 52 employee claims.\n<\/p>\n
\n HMRC is owed \u00a392,173 in unpaid VAT and PAYE, the documents show.\n<\/p>\n
\n There is expected to be \u00a3106,571 of Pedal and Post assets and cash available to distribute to preferential creditors.\n<\/p>\n
\n A total of 60 people, including a mix of employed and self employed team members across Oxford and London, lost their jobs in the wake of the company’s collapse.\n<\/p>\n
\n Chief executive and founder Mr Benton blamed the company’s collapse on losing a “major client” earlier this year, but did not say who it was.\n<\/p>\n
