\n Thames Valley Police has said that they caught a woman in Banbury on Wednesday, March 11, wanted for multiple shoplifting offences.\n<\/p>\n
\n After her arrest, she was charged and yesterday (Thursday, March 12) was given a 12 week prison sentence at court.\n<\/p>\n

\n A spokesperson for the force said: “Banbury Neighbourhood Officers were out on foot patrol when intelligence shared by our partner agencies paid off.\n<\/p>\n
\n “During the patrol, officers located a female wanted for multiple shoplifting offences across the town.\n<\/p>\n
\n “She was swiftly arrested, taken to custody, charged with several offences, and today at court has received a 12 week prison sentence.”\n<\/p>\n
\n The police added a warning to shoplifters calling the crime harmful to communities and saying that they won’t tolerate it.\n<\/p>\n
\n The spokesperson added: “Shoplifting harms local businesses and our community \u2014 we don\u2019t tolerate it, and we won\u2019t stand for it.\n<\/p>\n

\n “Thank you to our partners and the public for continuing to report information. Your support helps us take action and keep Banbury safe.”\n<\/p>\n
\n This woman is not the first person to be stopped for shoplifting recently.\n<\/p>\n
\n Police say they stopped two men at an unspecified shop in Bicester on Friday, March 6 who were found to have stolen items on them.\n<\/p>\n
\n The duo were issued with a community resolution, which means no formal charges will be brought against them and nor were they arrested.\n<\/p>\n
