\n Shoe shop Russell & Bromley is set to close at the city centre shopping spot on an unspecified date following a brief period of uncertainty.\n<\/p>\n
\n Earlier in 2026, the business announced all but three of its 36 stores were at risk as they had not been bought in a rescue deal.\n<\/p>\n
\n Next snapped up the luxury footwear business from administration in a rescue deal, but the future of most of the brand\u2019s stores and 440 staff remains uncertain.\n<\/p>\n

\n Closing down signs recently appeared at the Oxford-based Russell & Bromley store, with customers warned of the expected closure.\n<\/p>\n
\n Now, would-be shoppers have been told that neither gift cards nor loyalty points will be accepted in the future.\n<\/p>\n
\n A statement said: “While the previous operator has ceased trading, the Russell & Bromley brand will be operated by Next in the near future.”\n<\/p>\n
\n The Next website added: “These can no longer be used and we will not be able to honour these. For any queries about these, please contact the Administrators.”\n<\/p>\n

\n Andrew Bromley, chief executive of Russell & Bromley, previously said: \u201cFollowing a strategic review with external advisers, we have taken the difficult decision to sell the Russell & Bromley brand.\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cThis is the best route to secure the future for the brand, and we would like to thank our staff, suppliers, partners and customers for their support throughout our history.\u201d\n<\/p>\n
\n Will Wright, Interpath\u2019s UK chief executive, had added: \u201cOur intention is to continue to trade the remaining portfolio of stores for as long as we can, while we explore the options available.\u201d\n<\/p>\n
