\n Florentina Ionita, event sales coordinator at the Crazy Bear in Stadhampton, Oxfordshire, shared her journey in support of National Careers Week, describing the sector as rewarding and full of opportunity.\n<\/p>\n
\n UK Hospitality estimates that hospitality is the third-largest employer in the UK, with 3.5 million people working in the sector.\n<\/p>\n
\n Ms Ionita said: “I studied tourism and from there, hospitality has always been a part of me.\n<\/p>\n
\n “I wanted to meet new people, organise events, and celebrate people\u2019s important days.\n<\/p>\n
\n “I put a lot of effort into my work.\u00a0Hospitality is where I feel very comfortable in my career, and the Crazy Bear is a great place to work.\n<\/p>\n
\n “If you are willing and hardworking, you can start as a waitress and build up to running a department.”\n<\/p>\n
\n She began her career at the venue in April 2017, starting as a waitress before moving into reception and eventually joining the events team.\n<\/p>\n
\n Ms Ionita said: “I started in the Thai restaurant and then worked in reception.\n<\/p>\n
\n “I was doing events at the same time, as I had the opportunity and a manager who rewarded hard work and those who showed a willingness to learn.\n<\/p>\n
\n “I\u2019m settled now in events, but I\u2019m always happy to help other staff and with training.\n<\/p>\n
\n “In hospitality, there is always an opportunity for growth.”\n<\/p>\n
\n She also praised the working environment at the Crazy Bear and that ‘the vibe is unique’.\n<\/p>\n
\n “When I go out to different restaurants and hotels, I always end up comparing,” she added.\n<\/p>\n
\n “The Crazy Bear has its own distinctive charm though, due to the immersive surroundings and decor.\u00a0The team here is like a family.\n<\/p>\n
\n “We look after each other and know each other inside out.”\n<\/p>\n
