\n Blinkhorns, an independent supplier of audio-visual equipment for home use, closed its doors for the last time in February.\n<\/p>\n
\n Described as a “cornerstone of the community”, the family-run business has been trading since 1883, until recently run by Tom Blinkhorn.\n<\/p>\n
\n Official records show the Banbury-based business was formally put into liquidation on Friday, March 6.\n<\/p>\n

\n Rob Keyes and David Taylor, of business specialist KRE Corporate Recovery, have been appointed as joint liquidators.\n<\/p>\n

\n A tribute to the shop from hyperlocal media company Banburyshire Info said: “For nearly a century and a half, Blinkhorns was more than just a retail shop.\n<\/p>\n
\n “It was a testament to a bygone era of care\u2014a place built on the quiet strength of personal service, the wisdom of expert advice, and a bond of trust that spanned generations.\n<\/p>\n
\n “While the world around us grew louder and more impersonal, Blinkhorns remained a sanctuary of character, offering a warmth that larger competitors could never hope to replicate.”\n<\/p>\n
\n The liquidators will now gather any claims to be had from various creditors and once that has been established, the company’s assets will be sold off to return to those with debts owed.\n<\/p>\n
\n At this stage, who is owed what is not known and valuations within the company have not been released.\n<\/p>\n
