\n Pedal and Post has formally appointed liquidators after bosses closed down the struggling business after nearly 14 years in January.\n<\/p>\n
\n Brett Lee Barton and Margaret Carter, of Walsall-based BK Plus, have been appointed as joint liquidators.\n<\/p>\n
\n The duo were appointed by members and creditors, official records show, as is often the case with company collapses.\n<\/p>\n

\n Pedal and Post was Oxford-based, in the Osney Mead industrial estate, but it had also expanded to London.\n<\/p>\n
\n Its unique selling point was that it delivered parcels by bicycle, eliminating vehicle emissions and congestion in both cities.\n<\/p>\n
\n Delivery giant Evri said the sudden collapse of its partner Pedal and Post, which delivered in Oxford\u2019s clean air zone, caused \u201ctemporary disruption\u201d.\n<\/p>\n

\n The issue came to light when Carol Leonard, who lives in Grandpont, Oxford, reported several parcels had not been delivered.\n<\/p>\n
\n She claimed that three of her parcels, ordered on January 29 and 31, went missing for well over a week.\n<\/p>\n
\n During that time, she was told her parcels were both out for delivery, while also being informed that there was no record of them.\n<\/p>\n
\n The shop she had purchased the parcels from, which uses Evri, ended up providing her with a refund.\n<\/p>\n

\n Evri eventually apologised and shipped the items out to Ms Leonard on February 10.\n<\/p>\n
\n A total of 60 people, including a mix of employed and self employed team members across Oxford and London, lost their jobs in the company’s collapse.\n<\/p>\n
\n Chief executive and founder Christopher Benton blamed the company’s collapse on losing a “major client” earlier this year, but did not say who it was.\n<\/p>\n
\n He added: “Despite exploring every possible avenue to continue – and truly exhausting all options – we have reached the point where we can no longer sustain the business.\n<\/p>\n
\n “We want to take a moment to thank everyone who has supported Pedal and Post over the years.\n<\/p>\n
\n “Our clients, partners, riders, staff, and the wider community who believed in what we were trying to achieve. Your support meant everything.\n<\/p>\n

\n “Since our founding, Pedal and Post has worked tirelessly to show that cargo bike deliveries are not just possible, but practical, sustainable and better for cities.\n<\/p>\n
\n “Over 14 years, we\u2019ve helped remove countless vans from urban roads, reduced emissions, and shown that a people-powered delivery model can deliver excellent service while putting cities first.”\n<\/p>\n
\n An Evri spokesman said: \u201cWe were disappointed to learn that our e-cargo bike delivery partner in Oxford ceased trading without notice, which caused some temporary disruption for a small number of customers in the local area.\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cWe have quickly re-organised deliveries in the area, and our local team are working hard to resume normal service.”\n<\/p>\n
