\n\tLONDON \u2014 The U.K.\u2019s leading luxury watch retailer, Watches of Switzerland, reopened its Rolex boutique on Glasgow\u2019s Buchanan Street on Wednesday after a yearlong refurbishment that nearly doubles the store\u2019s size to more than 6,600 square feet across two floors.<\/p>\n
\n\tFirst opened in July 2020, the expanded space now carries Rolex\u2019s current collection and features a dedicated Rolex Certified Pre-Owned area and an authorized service center.<\/p>\n
\n\tWatches of Switzerland said the expansion reflects the group\u2019s confidence in Glasgow and the strength of a partnership with Rolex that dates back to 1919, when the brand was shown at Northern Goldsmiths in Newcastle.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe space redesign draws on Rolex\u2019s visual language while aiming for a warmer, more residential feel, with green marble marking the welcome area, where chandeliers reference the Cyclops lens on Rolex date displays, and a travertine staircase leading to the first-floor pre-owned space, finished with brown marble.<\/p>\n
\n\tBrian Duffy, chief executive officer of Watches of Switzerland, said the expanded Rolex store in Glasgow is \u201cmore than a retail destination.\u201d<\/p>\n
\n\t\u201cIt is a space where lasting relationships can be built, milestones celebrated and clients can immerse themselves in a world that reflects the prestige, craftsmanship and significance of every Rolex timepiece,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n
\n\tDuffy said the investment was especially meaningful because he grew up in Glasgow, and find it \u201ca privilege to contribute to Glasgow\u2019s continued growth and vibrancy.\u201d<\/p>\n
\n\tWatches of Switzerland noted that the Glasgow reopening expands the group\u2019s network of mono-brand boutiques and reinforces its position as the U.K.\u2019s largest retailer of Rolex watches.<\/p>\n
\n\tAs of Sept. 3, the company operated 186 showrooms across the U.K. and U.S., including 75 mono-brand boutiques in partnership with luxury watch and jewelry brands.<\/p>\n
