\n The university\u2019s impact reaches far beyond its campus, supporting jobs through supply chains, construction, tourism, and hospitality.\n<\/p>\n
\n Thousands more roles are connected to research partnerships and companies born from Oxford\u2019s academic discoveries.\n<\/p>\n
\n Central to this economic influence is the university\u2019s spin-out sector.\n<\/p>\n
\n Companies formed from Oxford research now employ around 10,500 people and operate in areas such as life sciences, artificial intelligence, and advanced engineering.\n<\/p>\n
\n Professor Tracey cited strong investor confidence in these businesses, noting that \u00a31.1 billion was invested in Oxford spin-outs over the past year.\n<\/p>\n
\n She said every \u00a31 of Oxford\u2019s research income generates over \u00a311 in impact from research and knowledge exchange activities.\n<\/p>\n
