\n Operating profit also saw a significant rise, reaching \u00a31.2 million, up from \u00a3793,489, attributed to the management’s focus on providing a “first-class VIP experience” and continued investment in infrastructure.\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
\n Cash reserves at the end of the year were robust at \u00a33.3 million, up from \u00a32.2 million, newly published accounts reveal.\n<\/p>\n
\n However, there is still a post-tax loss of \u00a32.03 million, albeit improved from a \u00a32.68 million loss the previous year.\n<\/p>\n
\n There are 87 people employed by the airport, which cost \u00a34,898,671 last year – up almost \u00a3100,000 despite seven fewer people employed.\n<\/p>\n
\n Significant investments have been made to modernise airport facilities and infrastructure, including the construction of new buildings.\n<\/p>\n

\n These modernisation efforts are aimed at enhancing amenities for both existing and potential new tenants.\n<\/p>\n
\n A new aircraft hangar, completed earlier this year, has increased available hangarage capacity for aircraft owners and operators at the airport.\n<\/p>\n
\n Since April 2025, the ground handling and refuel functions have been outsourced to a specialist ground handling agent with expertise in training programmes for these crucial support roles.\n<\/p>\n
\n The company faces various risks, including financial, commercial, and operating risks, the account sheet says.\n<\/p>\n
\n Financial risks are managed through regular monitoring of trade debtor balances, and reviewing credit terms for all customers.\n<\/p>\n
\n The company\u2019s loan facilities have been agreed at appropriate levels given the company’s forecasted operating cashflows, loan repayments, expected future capital expenditure and trading income.\n<\/p>\n
\n In a competitive market, the company faces the risk of losing customers due to economic challenges.\n<\/p>\n
\n This risk is mitigated by not relying on a single customer and maintaining a ‘high standard of VIP service’.\n<\/p>\n
\n The potential tenants and customers are assessed for covenant strength on a case-by-case basis, and security is obtained for leased space in the form of a rental deposit or guarantee.\n<\/p>\n
\n Tenants are regularly reviewed to monitor payment and trading patterns.\n<\/p>\n
\n Operating risks are measured and mitigated through a comprehensive safety management system, which is regularly assessed by management, directors, and the UK Civil Aviation Authority.\n<\/p>\n
\n The company says it continues to pursue strategic aims of increasing built rental space to provide more revenue, jobs, and training for local communities.\n<\/p>\n
\n Aircraft movements are not expected to increase dramatically over the next decade, the directors said in their report.\n<\/p>\n
\n Auditors tasked with reviewing the business said they would not find any reason for concern.\n<\/p>\n
