\n Funny Fuzzy, an online retailer claiming to sell millions of pounds worth of pet products, was wound up in the public interest following an investigation by the Insolvency Service.\n<\/p>\n
\n The company, registered as Funnyfuzzy Tech UK Co. Ltd, sold pet beds, clothing, toys, carriers, and feeders through its website.\n<\/p>\n
\n Mark George, chief investigator at the Insolvency Service, said: “Those behind this company would appear to be doing all they can to ignore UK company laws to make significant amounts of money with seemingly no care for their customers.”\n<\/p>\n
\n The company was formally closed by the High Court on September 22.\n<\/p>\n
\n The Insolvency Service said the business filed accounts showing no significant transactions, despite evidence of more than \u00a36.3 million in incoming payments between August 2023 and January 2026.\n<\/p>\n
\n Funnyfuzzy Tech UK Co. Ltd told investigators it operated outside the UK and refused to cooperate.\n<\/p>\n
\n Investigators found that the company sold products to UK customers and used a UK-based contractor to handle returns.\n<\/p>\n
\n The company listed business addresses in the UK, USA, China, and Hong Kong on its website.\n<\/p>\n
\n However, there was no evidence of any presence at its registered London address.\n<\/p>\n
\n The Insolvency Service received complaints from customers and agencies including Action Fraud and Trading Standards.\n<\/p>\n
\n Customers reported poor quality products and service, undelivered items, and unprocessed refunds.\n<\/p>\n
\n Investigators also found that changes to company information made it difficult for customers to identify who they were dealing with.\n<\/p>\n
\n He said: “We are doing all we can to stop those who do this from simply continuing the same objectionable business model via a different entity after a previous company has been shut down.\n<\/p>\n
\n “Transfer of ownership of a website can cause difficulties in getting the website closed down but the Insolvency Service will continue to work with partners to disrupt such trading.\n<\/p>\n
\n “Our latest success is a message to those thinking about trading in a similar manner that we are watching and we will investigate.”\n<\/p>\n
\n The company\u2019s predecessor, Funnyfuzzy UK Co. Ltd, was also shut down earlier in 2024 following a separate investigation.\n<\/p>\n
\n Funny Fuzzy\u2019s now-defunct website stated that its products were designed to “enhance the quality of life and interaction between pets and us humans.”\n<\/p>\n
