\n The 14th annual ceremony took place on Friday, September 18 at The Chesterton Hotel, with more than 200 guests in attendance from across the district.\n<\/p>\n
\n Hosted by Aaron Williams, the evening celebrated the achievements of businesses, individuals and charitable organisations from the region.\n<\/p>\n
\n Darren Rea, youth chair and SEND lead at Gosford All Blacks RFC, spoke about the value of winning an award and the recognition it brings.\n<\/p>\n
\n Councillor Lesley McLean, leader of Cherwell District Council, said: “It has been fantastic to see so many talented and hardworking businesses and individuals recognised at the awards this year.\n<\/p>\n
\n “I\u2019d love to extend my congratulations to all the winners and everyone who was shortlisted.\n<\/p>\n
\n “Local businesses make an enormous contribution to our communities and economy, and it is wonderful to hear about great practices being shared and results being achieved.\n<\/p>\n
\n “The excellence being driven by businesses, individually and in partnership, provides a fantastic basis for the sustainable development of our local economy.”\n<\/p>\n
\n The awards began with the presentation of the Becky Moyce Tribute Award, given in memory of Ben Jackson, a well-known member of the Oxfordshire business community who died earlier this year.\n<\/p>\n
\n His daughter, Jenni Jackson, accepted the award on his behalf.\n<\/p>\n
\n Mr Jackson described himself as the \u2018Satnav for business owners\u2019 and was known for helping others find direction in their professional lives.\n<\/p>\n
\n Finalists were recognised across nine categories, reflecting the diversity of Cherwell\u2019s business community.\n<\/p>\n
\n Among the winners was Robin Underwood of Hook Norton Brewery, who took home the Apprentice of the Year Award.\n<\/p>\n
\n The Business Person of the Year Award went to Carl Boswell of CS Boswell Independent Funeral Services.\n<\/p>\n
\n Banbury United in the Community won the Charity and Community Award, while The Sense of Hearing was named New Business Award.\n<\/p>\n
\n Pea Green Physio Ltd took the Small Business Award, with North South Wines winning both the Large Business Award and the Sustainable Business Award.\n<\/p>\n
\n Greencore Homes received the Innovation Award and was named Overall Winner.\n<\/p>\n
\n Bicester Friday Market was recognised with the Town Centre Award.\n<\/p>\n
\n The evening featured a drinks reception, two-course dinner, a game of Heads and Tails and live music from The CoverBuoys.\n<\/p>\n
\n A spokesperson for the Cherwell Business Awards said: “The Cherwell Business Awards would like to congratulate all of the 2026 winners and finalists and thank Cherwell District Council as headline sponsor, the individual award sponsors, judges, partners and everyone who contributed to making the 14th annual awards a success.”\n<\/p>\n
\n Donations made during the evening will go to the Charity and Community Award finalists, with Bicester Village pledging to match the total amount raised.\n<\/p>\n
\n Banbury United in the Community will receive 50 per cent of the final sum, while ACE Training and StarterMotor will each receive 25 per cent.\n<\/p>\n
