\n Harrisons Fish & Chips, which is based in Elms Parade, Botley, has revealed the quantities of food that has been cooked in the three and a half years since the infamous Botley Road closure began.\n<\/p>\n
\n The road is set to be opened tomorrow (Sunday, September 20) to the delight of businesses that have blamed its closure on reduced trade.\n<\/p>\n

\n Harrisons revealed that since April 2023, 40,994kg of chips, 11,124kg of cod, 2,875kg of haddock and 890kg of alternative fish have been sold.\n<\/p>\n

\n Celebrating the opening, a spokesperson for the fish and chip shop said: “Finally, Botley Bridge is about to reopen!\n<\/p>\n
\n “Despite being cut off from much of Oxford during the works, we\u2019re incredibly proud of what we\u2019ve achieved and here are a few brilliant statistics from that time.\n<\/p>\n
\n “Once the bridge reopens, Harrison\u2019s will finally be easier to reach from every part of Oxford.\n<\/p>\n
\n “It\u2019s going to be a fantastic day for Botley residents, local businesses and the wider Oxfordshire community.\n<\/p>\n

\n “We can\u2019t wait.”\n<\/p>\n

\n In addition Harrisons noted that they had won a national fish and chip award in during the period of the Botley Road closure.\n<\/p>\n
\n Indeed, the Oxford chippy won the Menu Innovation prize at the National Fish and Chip Awards, held on Wednesday (February 25, 2026) at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge in London.\n<\/p>\n
\n Harrison\u2019s was also in the running for the best takeaway in the country prize, but lost out to The Scrap Box in York.\n<\/p>\n
