\n The restaurant chain confirmed earlier this month that its annual game of Monopoly wouldn\u2019t be returning, but now customers could be in for a new kind of treat.\n<\/p>\n
\n On Facebook, the official McDonald\u2019s account shared several pictures of a gold vault with various symbols on it, including a snowflake, the map of Australia, what appears to be a bacon rasher, a block of cheese, a padlock and some abbreviations such as IND, SGP and NLD.\n<\/p>\n
\n This has led to several people guessing what it could be about since the caption on the post gives nothing away: \u201ccheese… padlock… whatever it means I\u2019m in\u201d.\n<\/p>\n
McDonald\u2019s teases customers with cryptic clues after axing Monopoly<\/p>\n
\n Earlier this week, McDonald’s revealed a new menu would be dropping in the coming days, with items inspired by countries around the world.\n<\/p>\n
\n World Menu Heist returns to restaurants for the second time and fan-favourite McDonald\u2019s items from\u00a0Germany, Canada, the UAE, the Netherlands, India, China and Australia\u00a0to the UK & Ireland feature on the menu.\n<\/p>\n
\n It’s believed that the teaser relates to these items, which include the Big R\u00f6sti from Germany,\u00a0the\u00a0Maple & Cheddar Chicken\u00a0and\u00a0S’mores McFlurry from Canada,\u00a0the\u00a0Chicken & Egg McMuffin\u00a0and\u00a0Chicken and Bacon McMuffin from Australia, Paprika McShaker Fries from the Netherlands, Szechuan Sauce from China, Guava x Sprite Zero from India\u00a0and\u00a0Mac & Cheese Triangles from the UAE.\n<\/p>\n

\n The new menu will be available from Tuesday, September 22 at all UK and Ireland restaurants.\n<\/p>\n
\n Since Monopoly won\u2019t be coming back this year, fans have shared their disappointment in the comments on this post, with one saying: \u201cIf it\u2019s not monopoly then I\u2019m not interested\u201d.\n<\/p>\n

McDonald\u2019s axes Monopoly after 20 years<\/p>\n
\n McDonald\u2019s has axed its long-running Monopoly game promotion in the UK after 20 years.\n<\/p>\n
\n First launched in 2006, the game gave customers the chance to win prizes by collecting game pieces from menu items (fries, wraps, drinks, McFlurry, and more).\n<\/p>\n
\n The promotion last ran in the UK from September 10 to October 21, 2025.\n<\/p>\n
\n Prizes available during last year’s promotion included:\n<\/p>\n
\u00a3100,000 cash<\/p>\n
\u00a32,000 Jet2 holiday<\/p>\n
LG OLED TV<\/p>\n
Merlin Annual Pass for four<\/p>\n

\n A McDonald\u2019s spokesperson said: “We know how much our customers love our promotions, from the brand-new launch of CARDS in March, to our first-ever XBOX partnership as part of the Side Missions launch.\n<\/p>\n
\n “We’re always looking for new ways to surprise and delight our customers, and while Monopoly won’t feature in 2026, we’ll continue listening closely to what they enjoy most as we shape future promotions.”\n<\/p>\n
