\n\tWhen Herm\u00e8s opened a long-term pop-up in Williamsburg three years ago, the plan was always to eventually open a permanent space.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\n\tThat time is now.<\/p>\n
\n\tOn Saturday, the French luxury house will open its 44th U.S. store at North Sixth Street. The two-level space features the brand\u2019s 16\u00a0m\u00e9tiers in a space designed to pay homage to the neighborhood\u2019s industrial past.<\/p>\n

\n\tFive distinct\u00a0facades have been installed on the outside of the large brick building. Once inside, the store features\u00a0high ceilings, raw brick, gray terrazzo\u00a0and metalwork that complements the silk offering as well as the\u00a0fashion jewelry, perfume, beauty and the men\u2019s and women\u2019s footwear located on the first floor. Further back is the home area.<\/p>\n
\n\tA double-height brick mural flanks a staircase reminiscent of New York City fire\u00a0escapes that leads to the second floor, where jewelry and watches are displayed along with the men\u2019s and women\u2019s ready-to-wear, equestrian collections and leather goods.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWe have long been convinced there\u2019s tremendous potential for Herm\u00e8s in Williamsburg and have nurtured meaningful creative and cultural relationships over many years in Brooklyn as well as communication events such as a men\u2019s fashion show and an immersive event, Herm\u00e8sFit,\u201d said Diane Mahady, president and chief executive officer of Herm\u00e8s Americas. \u201cThe pop-up featuring accessories-only was an important first step in our journey.\u00a0It allowed us to get to know the neighborhood intimately, meet members of the community and ensure we had found the right home. We never wanted to rush that process.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tShe added that the design of the new boutique on the corner of Berry Street \u201creflects the atmosphere and identity of Williamsburg, drawing inspiration from the neighborhood\u2019s character and architecture while staying true to the craftsmanship and spirit of the house. We are also excited to establish an artist windows program at the store which will allow us to celebrate the work of local Brooklyn artists.\u201d<\/p>\n
\n\tThe store was designed by\u00a0Parisian architecture agency RDAI. It replaces the pop-up that closed at the beginning of this year.<\/p>\n
