\n Closing-down sales are under way at some affected stores, including Crewe, Rochdale and Gateshead, with discounts of up to 60%.\n<\/p>\n
\n Mondella Capital has endured a challenging 2026.\n<\/p>\n
\n Claire’s and the Original Factory, both owned by Mondella, fell into administration earlier this year, resulting in the closure of all 291 stores (combined total).\n<\/p>\n
\n Meanwhile, around 150 TG Jones stores are at risk of closing as part of a\u00a0major restructuring plan.\n<\/p>\n
Other UK companies that have closed or entered administration\/liquidation in 2026<\/p>\n
\n It has been a tough year for the UK high street, with several other retailers entering administration or liquidation and others announcing widespread store closures.\n<\/p>\n
\n Major high street brands LK Bennett and Quiz have been forced to close all their remaining stores after falling into administration.\n<\/p>\n
\n UK fashion retailer Leading Labels is also set to close its remaining 15 stores after falling into liquidation in May.\n<\/p>\n
\n Whitbread closed all its UK restaurants earlier this month:\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
\n The British Heart Foundation will be closing around 150 stores across the UK.\n<\/p>\n
\n Other retailers have been forced to close stores this year, including:\n<\/p>\n
\n The company responsible for iconic British bikemaker Raleigh, Accell Group, has also collapsed into administration, putting the 139-year-old British bikemaker at risk of closing.\n<\/p>\n
\n Several UK travel companies have ceased trading or entered administration in 2026:\n<\/p>\n
\n Wayfairer Travel Limited has also suspended all services “until further notice” as it looks to appoint an administrator.\n<\/p>\n
\n Meanwhile, four UK airlines have fallen into administration or liquidation:\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
\n UK delivery company Yodel is set to be phased out after being acquired by InPost.\n<\/p>\n
\n It’s also been reported that Morrisons is looking to sell some of its in-store pharmacies as it continues to cut costs.\n<\/p>\n
\n It hasn’t all been bad news for the UK high street, with several major brands announcing new store openings for 2026, including Aldi, M&S, and Superdrug.\n<\/p>\n
\n Meanwhile, brands including Evans and Bodycare have returned to the UK high street this year after previously closing all their stores.\n<\/p>\n
