\n The Post Office in Headington reopened today at 1pm (Tuesday, September 15), nine months after the area lost its branch.\n<\/p>\n
\n More than 1,200 people signed a campaign for its future after it was forced shut in London Road because the building which it was in was going to be demolished.\n<\/p>\n

\n Formerly inside the Co-Op, the Post Office closed on December 31 last year to make way for research and office space.\n<\/p>\n
\n It is now at number 12 Windmill Road, with its opening hours set to be from 9am to 5.30pm, Monday to Saturday.\n<\/p>\n

\n A similar wide range of products and services will still be available.\n<\/p>\n
\n Post Office spokeswoman Sheila Tapster said: “The new branch will be located approximately 280 metres from the previous location.\n<\/p>\n
\n “St Leonards Road Car Park pay & display is available 120 meters away on St Leonards Road.\n<\/p>\n

\n “The new premises will have a wide door and a ramp at the entrance. Internally, there will be a hearing loop and space for a wheelchair.\n<\/p>\n
\n “This re-opening of the branch in a new location is a commercial decision for Post Office and we are not seeking feedback on this aspect of the change.\n<\/p>\n
\n “However, we would welcome suggestions and feedback about access into and inside the new premises.”\n<\/p>\n
