\n Blackfriars Priory has opened a cafe called The Good Habit in St Giles, opposite St Giles’ Church.\n<\/p>\n
\n Planning permission was secured by the Roman Catholic religious order earlier this year, and permission to display signs and install a canopy with cafe branding was expected to follow.\n<\/p>\n
\n Cafe staff posted on Facebook at the weekend: “Good Habit cafe is open for the first time.\n<\/p>\n
\n “Come and visit us at the north end of St Giles in Oxford, just opposite St Giles’ churchyard – we recommend the Guinness cake!”\n<\/p>\n
\n In the summer, Fr John O\u2019Connor, Regent of Blackfriars Priory, said: \u201cAt long last we have planning permission, we have the workers on site, and things are moving really quickly with a view to an opening during the summer.\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cIt\u2019s a great project, it\u2019s going to be a retail cafe during the day, buzzing with lots of activity, and then in the evening there\u2019ll be opportunities for Blackfriars Hall events, events for the community, and also events for the wider public as well, in what I think is a wonderful part of Oxford that is buzzing in so many different ways.”\n<\/p>\n
\n The unit, at 33 St Giles was a bank up until 2018 and has been transformed into a stylish cafe and events space offering billing itself as a spot for \u2018coffee and bakery\u2019.\n<\/p>\n

\n Rich Sewell, manager of the new cafe, said earlier: \u201cI\u2019m really looking forward to opening Good Habit this summer. I\u2019ve been working with Blackfriars now for the last couple of years and it\u2019s really great to see how this project has been developing.\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cI\u2019m looking forward to bringing this to Oxford, it\u2019ll be a great cafe and a great space for everybody \u2013 the public and for Blackfriars students to enjoy.\u201d\n<\/p>\n
