\n\tTransatlantic Collaboration: Gap and A.P.C. have partnered on a 37-piece collection connecting Gap\u2019s American style with A.P.C.\u2019s Parisian point of view.<\/p>\n
\n\tThe apparel and accessories in the Gap x A.P.C. collection create what officials described as an \u201cessential fall wardrobe through a shared language of timeless essentials, exceptional quality and effortless style.\u201d Denim, which the Paris-based A.P.C. and the San Francisco-based Gap are both known for, anchors the collection.<\/p>\n
\n\t\u201cEvery collaboration we pursue begins with a shared vision,\u201d said Mark Breitbard, president and chief executive officer of Gap Brand. \u201cWe were drawn to A.P.C. because of their distinctive Parisian perspective and commitment to timeless essentials. We\u2019ve brought that point of view together with Gap\u2019s heritage of modern American style in a way that feels authentic to both brands.\u201d<\/p>\n
\n\tOfficials also said the collection, which has looks for both men and women, \u201cdraws from the language of 1960s cinema, music and art, and the sheer casual look that defined this cultural era. The collection reinterprets each brand\u2019s signature silhouettes and design codes to feel both classic and current, relaxed but sophisticated.\u201d<\/p>\n
\n\tJean Touitou, founder of A.P.C., said: \u201cFor me, there is a chic way to be casual and a casual way to be chic. The research of that balance is at the heart of this collaboration, which brings the concept of \u2018sheer casual\u2019 to life. Gap and A.P.C. both aim to achieve authentic, familiar, well-made clothes that can become pillars of your wardrobe.\u201d<\/p>\n
\n\tIn line with the \u201960s inspiration, the collaboration will be highlighted through \u201cThe Long Way,\u201d a short film directed by Karl Cannone, styled by fashion image consultant Alastair McKimm, and overseen by Gap\u2019s head of creative Calvin Leung. Shot in the historic Montmartre neighborhood in Paris, the film tells a cross-cultural story of unexpected connections and stars emerging American rapper ian and French DJ Paloma Le Friant. The film will premiere on owned-brand social and digital channels.<\/p>\n
\n\tSelect men\u2019s styles, including denim jackets and relaxed straight jeans, are crafted from premium Japanese denim and offered under $200. For women, popular fits include the \u201chigh rise stride\u201d and \u201clow rise \u201990s loose\u201d cut in Gap\u2019s 100 percent cotton rigid denim, and paired with denim jackets.<\/p>\n
\n\tBeyond denim, there\u2019s tailored Oxford shirting, functional outerwear, knitwear and accessories. Fabrics include cashmere, wool and corduroy and prices range from $28 to $328.<\/p>\n
\n\tThe collection will be available beginning Friday, on gap.com, at 10 Gap stores in the U.S. and Canada, and A.P.C.\u2019s Mercer Street store in Manhattan. The collection will also be available in Japan, the U.K., Europe, Turkey, China, Mexico, Australia and the Middle East.<\/p>\n
\n\tGap and A.P.C. will launch activations in New York City and Tokyo. On Thursday, members of the Gap Encore loyalty program get early access to shop the collection at a pop-up in New York City, online and on the app.<\/p>\n
