\n\tLafayette 148 is celebrating 30 years of business through the lens of Brigitte Lacombe.<\/p>\n
\n\tThe company has released The Lafayette 148 Uniform, a new portrait series by Lacombe, the acclaimed French photographer, which captures eight singular New York women whose influence spans the arts, culture, luxury, architecture, food, wellness and entertainment.<\/p>\n
\n\tThrough Lacombe\u2019s lens, Lafayette 148 explores the relationship between what women wear, the lives they build and the individual codes of dressing that emerge over time \u2014 considering uniform not as a prescription, but as something personal.<\/p>\n
\n\t\u201cUniform has never meant sameness to me,\u201d said Emily Smith, creative director of Lafayette 148. \u201cIt is almost the opposite. Over time, you learn what makes you feel most like yourself \u2014 the shapes, materials and pieces you instinctively return to become part of your identity. We have spent years refining those ideas at Lafayette 148, so it felt natural to look beyond our own perspective and ask women with incredibly distinct lives what a uniform means to them.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe series features Christine Baranski, the Emmy- and Tony award-winning actor whose four-decade career spans stage, film and television; Phyllis Kao, the Sotheby\u2019s auctioneer who has a viral following; Wyna Liu, the New York Times puzzle editor and creator of Connections; Missy Robbins, the James Beard award-winning chef and restaurateur behind Lilia, Miss and Misipasta; Deborah Burke, the acclaimed architect and educator; Dr. Laura E. Riley, the internationally recognized physician and leading voice in women\u2019s health; Shanta Thake, chief artistic director at Lincoln Center, and longtime brand collaborator, costume designer and stylist Sophie de Rakoff.<\/p>\n

\n\tStyled by de Rakoff in collaboration with each woman, the portraits feature pieces from Lafayette 148\u2019s fall 2026 collection, selected to reflect each subject\u2019s personality, style and the demands of her day.<\/p>\n
